After spending over 20 years working in Automotive Design, travelling to so many countries and working on some of the most beautiful cars in the world, I decided to draw a line under that career and come home to Mid Wales to set up The Cake Studio by Alison Kenlock.

As an Automotive Clay Modeller, I spent many years modelling both the exteriors and interiors of cars. Look it up on Google it’s a fascinating job, this skill has helped me understand the fundamentals of design, a skill I have transposed into my cake making.

For as long as I can remember I have been making and decorating cakes for friends and family. Anything from birthday to weddings. I love design and architectural form and aim to make cakes that are truly out of the ordinary. I have a true passion for creating, and working on a design brief and then seeing the finished product come to life fills me with so much joy. I really am so lucky to be doing a job that allows me to be home with the people I care about most.

There are so many avenues that we could go down to create you that bespoke one off cake for your wedding day. So, if you’re into contemporary, minimalist, romantic or just way out there crazy, I will design a cake that suits your personalities perfectly. The icing is on the cake as they say.
